"Parking at disabled car park"

About: University Hospital Monklands

(as a service user),

I was rather anxious having traveled some distance to attend an appointment. I was waiting in a queue in the disabled car park for a space to become available but other drivers were skipping the queue then nipping into spaces becoming available.

I asked if there was any way people could be prevented from pushing in, as I and others had been waiting for quite a while to get parked.

Dean came to my rescue and told me to drive out of the car park and go back in to the front of the hospital. He moved his own car to allow me to park and get to my appointment on time.

This was such a relief. Being neurodivergent it creates huge stress being late and which is why I turned up 40 minutes early to get a parking space.

You can’t account for ignorant people though jumping in.

Dean was so pleasant and helpful it made my day much better.
