"Great care experience all round"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Physiotherapy Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a great experience with the Minor Injuries, Orthopaedic and Physiotherapy departments of Crosshouse Hospital, after I had an accident in which I broke my elbow and injured my knee.

The service at Minor Injuries was really prompt, everyone was kind and importantly, they also gently convinced me to do what was best for me by getting my elbow x-rayed, as my anxiety was making this decision difficult.

I was promptly seen by Orthopaedics for follow-up and sent on a short course of physio with one of the kindest and most motivational people I have met in a healthcare setting, a physiotherapist named Elaine. She pushed me just enough to put me on the road to recovery really quickly.

Great care experience all round.

Dear OctoberFall24

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care provided by the Emergency Department, Trauma and Orthopaedic Team and Physiotherapy Team within University Hospital Crosshouse.

I am sorry to read that you required admission to hospital following an accident that resulted in a broken elbow and knee injury, but delighted to hear that you received such professional and supportive care from all of our staff.

It is reassuring to know that you received prompt and attentive care from our staff in the Minor Injuries Unit and that they were able to take the time to reassure you prior to going for your x-ray. It’s often the attention to the small details that can make such a big difference in supporting anxious patients and resulting in a positive experience for them.

It’s also great to know that you were seen promptly by our Orthopaedic Team and follow up was arranged with Elaine from the Physiotherapy Department. To describe Elaine as one of the kindest and most motivational people you have met in a healthcare setting is high praise indeed.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to ensure your lovely comments are shared with the wider Teams and with Wendy in particular.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
