"They constantly checked to see if we needed anything"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics) Craigavon Area Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was admitted to Blossom in Craigavon Area Hospital from Paediatric A&E with fully blown Tonsillitis. She had become unwell at home and was at the point she couldn't orally take her medication.

They inserted a cannula in A&E and proceeded to start an IV Antibiotic on advice from ENT. All staff in A&E and Blossom down to the wee student nurses were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough for both my daughter and myself, they constantly checked to see if we needed anything and have just been brilliant.

Initially bloods were taken in A&E which showed her infection markers high, so both this and how sick she was and being unable to take meds orally resulted in her admission.

Many thanks for your response Linzi, she's delighted to be home and continuing to recover. She is still very sore at times and very sleepy due to pain relief and Antibiotics. Thanks again to the lovely staff and I hope they enjoyed their chocolates x
