"No support available and offloaded onto a charity"

About: Florence Street Clinic / General Psychiatry

(as the patient),

In the two and a bit years that I was under this CMHT, I never received any kind of therapy or regular support from a nurse and only had limited medication input that I would have to wait thirteen+ weeks for. If I was advised to stop taking a medication, then I would still need to wait that length of time, which left me incredibly unwell on numerous occasions.

Whilst not all staff were like this, most were highly dismissive, used my illness against me, and wouldn't record notes accurately or full on lie which appears to me it was to protect themselves.
Despite being incredibly unwell, a psychiatrist eventually would discharge me because they said I needed to be referred onto a charity. I explained that I didn't wish to go through a charity and rather work with mental health services, but that didn't seem to matter. Not taking into consideration anything I would say was pretty standard from my time working with them. The psychiatrist also deliberately misled me into believing upon being discharged that I would receive support relatively soon. According to them the referrals were super quick and that if I worked hard over the next few months, I could maybe be referred back to the CMHT.
The charity has a huge waiting list and I'm unlikely to receive any support any time soon (so far I have waited four months, but likely to be at least waiting another five). I don't even know if they'll accept me or be able to help. The support is also only short term. The whole process just felt like an attempt to offload me onto an already overwhelmed charity.

I was incredibly hard on myself about my mental illness beforehand, so the regular implications that I just wasn't trying hard enough to get better throughout my time with the CMHT, has been incredibly damaging for me. Prior to my involvement with Florence Street, I believed that I could get better, however now I don't see my mental health as ever being manageable and have nowhere left to go for help.
