Disgusting treatment today. I was due for an appointment with my baby who was in distress due to a suspected ear infection. I only went to this surgery as my normal gp didn’t have any other appointments and I was desperate to help him as he was inconsolable that morning. I was 7 minutes late for my appointment due to my unwell baby not wanting to get out the house and they refused to see me! The receptionist was so rude and the gp didn’t even have the decency to tell me to my face. I pleaded for the receptionist to ask again as my toddler was clearly unwell. Then the “gp” came out and I was in shock at the treatment we received. She spoke down to me in the hallway and said she’s already running behind and has other patients (there was only one other person in the waiting room) and the time she took arguing with me is the time it would have took her to assess my toddler. I asked if she could quickly assess his ear as he was oozing from his ears and that he’d been crying all day. She replied “well he’s not crying now” that’s because he was distracted due to her going back and fourth and another child in the waiting room. She was rude and obnoxious and the receptionist even said they need to be done by 4pm and she’s got children to go home to too. I found it so heartless and was appalled how we were treated and turned away for being a few minutes late however when they run late it’s simply fine!
Luckily I managed to get an emergency appointment from someone who actually made the time because they actually have a heart and even they were shocked and said how and why are they a gp to turn down a poorly child and that they have no compassion. The nhs are a joke. You go to them for help for them to either say they don’t have appointments or speak rude and turn you down. Absolutely disgusted.
If I could give a minus rating I would. Don’t waste your time with this useless surgery. Staff are not trained or even have a shred of human decency.
"Awful experience - turned down a poorly toddler "
