"Amazing care"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

I attended A&E at Ninewells Dundee, with my young son who had broken his arm.

The care we received from the whole MDT was amazing and very prompt.

However, this was all overshadowed by the fact that we couldn't get park anywhere, because I felt my son wasn’t an emergency I decided to drive him to the emergency room. We drove around for 40 mins trying to get parked while my son was crying in pain, which made the whole thing more distressing than it needed to be.

Dear Raymac

Thank you so much for your positive feedback about your A+E experience following your recent attendance with your son. I am glad to hear that other than the parking, the actual MDT input within the Emergency Department was excellent and I will ensure to feed this back to everyone. I hope that your son is recovering well from his broken arm!

Unfortunately, as an ED Consultant, I can only empathise with your car parking issue- it is something that effects patients and staff alike and is out-with my remit. I hope that someone from the parking team can respond to your concerns

Many thanks

Kindest regards

Dr Kirsty Tonge
