"First breast screening appointment"

About: NHS Dumfries and Galloway

(as a service user),

A few months ago, I attended my first breast screening appointment, held at the mobile unit in the car park of a Sainsburys.

I'm always interested in skill and technology in the health services, and this did not disappoint - I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The staff were great, and the mammographer was confident, straightforward, and also good-humoured and patient when it came to wrangling my unfeasible large breasts!

It could only have been better if I'd been able to see the scans, but I do appreciate that it's not possible in case of anything concerning showing up.

So, thank you to the staff on the day for a great experience.

Hi, silverwareem85.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm pleased to hear that your screening experience did not disappoint. I can imagine it is a very daunting going for one of these examinations, It is reassuring to know that the staff were great, good humoured and the mammogram was interesting and straightforward

I will make sure to pass your feedback to the team involved as I am sure they would love to read your kind words.

Thanks,

Stephen
