"Western Trust CMP - Anxiety , Stress , Depression, Work / life balance"

About: Adult Services / Condition Management Programme

(as a service user),

Six months ago, I was in a really tough place, struggling with high stress and anxiety levels. I went through periods of depression and couldn't stand the sight of myself in the mirror. My life at home was chaotic, with four young children, the oldest being five at the time. Balancing my home life with work was overwhelming. I have a demanding role. Some days, I had 8-10 meetings, and once I logged off, it was straight into a busy home life. I felt like I had no time for myself or for exercise.

Things got so bad that I started experiencing severe anxiety attacks, sometimes having to pull over while driving or leaving meetings at work. I struggled just to go grocery shopping or do the school run, and exercise was out of the question.

That's when I joined the Western Trust CMP program, after being referred by my GP and worked with Elizabeth. Liz and the program made a huge difference by helping me understand what was happening to my body and teaching me practical techniques to manage and cope.

I attended the meetings with Liz once per month, After six months, my anxiety has gone, and my overall well-being has improved. Though my life is still busy, I've found time to exercise and a diet plan I developed myself, which has helped me lose over a stone in just two months. My work has improved too—I’ve been able to travel to sites and conduct training for contractors, and anxiety is no longer on my mind.

I highly recommend this program to anyone who feels stuck like I did. I’m incredibly grateful to Liz for her support in my recovery.
