I was admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke. I was weak, traumatised and confused, and felt vulnerable and frightened. I was made very welcome and comfortable at every stage of treatment. I was treated with kindness and respect. At every stage everything, such as routines and treatment, were explained.
The staff were able to mix kindness, friendliness and appropriate humour which removed most of the stress which is inevitable in my situation. The atmosphere within the ward and the day room was conducive of calm, homely and safety. The care team worked hard but were always available to reassure, cheer up and advise. They were always approachable and without a doubt a major contribution in my recovery.
I cannot praise them or thank them more, and I would best name them as my dream team.
Ps. These comments are also inclusive of the domestic staff.
