My husband woke up with excruciating pain at 4.30am with what we later found out were kidney stones. We were seen quickly at a&e and referred for a ct scan and a chat at SAU for the next day.
The wait at SAU was ridiculous, we arrived at 10.15ish in the morning and are still waiting as I write this at 18.21.
We’ve have no update on where the doctor is or when we can expect to see them, and the poor charge nurse has been getting battered with questions left right and centre. The charge nurse has been fantastic, I want to make that crystal clear, and said they'd paged the doctor for the department multiple times with no response. But over an 8 hour wait is totally unacceptable to confirm results - we’ve had to leave as this is beyond and joke and we’ve wasted an entire day.
We get that everyone is busy, they're understaffed and grossly underfunded, but this well beyond a joke.
