"General disappointment in getting an appointment"

About: New Pond Row Surgery

(as a service user),

For ages now I have been trying to get an appointment with my/a Doctor at this surgery.

Just to put it in perspective I am in my 70s and am suffering from the following ailments

1) High Blood pressure

2) Diabetes

But let's not linger on that.

About 2 months ago I had a small lump appear on my arm, so i did what any normal person would do: I rang for an appointment with my doctor. What joke! I tried about 5-6 times.

I had a nurses appt for something unrelated, during which i asked her what she thought about the lump on my arm. She ummed and arred and took a picture of it and took it round to the doctor who said it was an inflamed cyst and issued me with a course of antibiotics, which i duly took. Well it {the lump } was enjoying them , it got larger so A&E here i come. The man down there said the same thing, more antibios, they seem to dish them out like sweets, so my next stop was the local chemist. He suggested that i see the private skin doctor down the road.

Off I trotted for an appt and he tells me that he thinks it's skin cancer, and made me an appt for the following week at Southlands.

Well I had an ultrasound scan on it and went back the next day for an appointment with the specialist who assured me that it was indeed cancer.

I have two questions 1} Is anyone going to do anything about the appointment scenario at Pond Row? And secondly can I claim back the £200 i paid the private doctor that I saw.
