"Awesome help"

About: Downe Community Services / Children and Young People’s Speech and Language Therapy Service Health Visitors / HENRY Programme

(as a service user),

Debbie is a behaviour specialist and speech therapy at the Ards hospital she came to our house for appointments to see how she can help us with ways we can help our 3 year old son with his behaviour.

Debbie first came to us last year in 2024 I think ,she has done brilliant when she first came our wee man would scream and not sit and play with his toys and join in with Debbie but now hes changed more Debbie would come to our house for appointments.

Our son would get used to Debbie she showed us to make playdoh and give us cards to show our son as when he's doing something he shouldn't and to let our son have his tantarum he would come out of it and join Debbie on the mat and carry on with the playdoh or cars or learning to put different things into cups like measuring.

Debbie has being a absolute awesome help would diffently recommend her to any family she is also so polite and patient with everyone a credit to the NHS thank you so much.

Hi Emz43ards

thank you for taking time to leave such lovely comments for Debbie.

Debbie is one of our child health assistants in the Health Visiting team and all our CHAs do really good work supporting parents with a range of issues.

I will make sure Debbie receives your kind words

Dear Emz43ards,

We really appreciate that you have taken the time to tell us about your visits from our Speech and Language Therapist. It is delightful to hear that you had a good experience and that the therapist was polite and patient when she was working with you and your son. Receiving positive feedback from patients and their families helps us to know that we are doing a good job and we love to know that our work makes a difference. Thank you for getting in touch and we wish you and your son well in the future.
