"Horrible situation made bearable by exemplary care"

About: Maternity care / Early Pregnancy Assessment Service Maternity care / Maternity Out Patient Department

(as the patient),

I’m currently undergoing treatment and support for a missed miscarriage. I wanted to extend my thanks to the fantastic maternity team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. They have made what is a horrible situation bearable through their exemplary care and support. When the miscarriage started I was on my own and frightened but the triage midwives stuck by me, calling me to check in and support me.

Then, the Early Pregnancy Unit took over and extended further support throughout the challenging miscarriage. They most recently provided excellent reassurance and treatment for a suspected infection. I can’t thank the midwives and doctors enough. They handled everything perfectly and listened to me every step of the way, taking my concerns seriously and providing prompt support and treatment. They have helped to make a horrendous situation into a far more manageable one and for that I can’t thank them enough. I hope to be back in future for more positive reasons and I’m sure they will do just as good a job at looking after me then too.
