"An absolute credit to the hospital"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 1 East Gynaecology Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I unfortunately suffered quite a difficult situation and quite quickly became unwell. During such a difficult and vulnerable time I was admitted to CAH. While i felt some of the staff I met were inconsiderate to my circumstances and weren't attentive to my pain, emotions or physical needs, some of the staff are an absolute credit to the hospital and cannot go unmentioned.

On arriving to A&E the receptionist so kindly informed staff of the situation and made sure my care was prioritised. I would like to thank Nurse Sarah and Cathy Ann in the triage area for their warmth, care, compassion and making me feel as safe and comfortable as possible during what was a very scary time for myself and my partner. I would also like to thank Sister Danielle in the Resus area for being a hand to hold when I needed it most and for being so attentive and caring to my needs. Nothing was ever too much hassle.

From ward 1 East, staff nurses Chloe and Martina, sister Pauline, and Hca’s Kaitlin & Pauline, I would just like to thank you all for providing me with so much comfort, support, reassurance and having a hand to hold when I ever needed it. I never felt alone in the care of these ladies and always felt that if i needed anything, nothing was too much hassle. During my darkest days I will never forget the warmth and compassion you each offered, particularly Martina who was absolutely born to do her job, and she couldn't have done enough for me, not many nurses would come and give you a hug and chat with you to give you words of encouragement after their shift even finished which is just so evident of a person with a big heart.

My partner and I will be eternally grateful for how we were treated, you are all a credit to yourselves and CAH and we will never forget it, thank you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such wonderful and encouraging feedback whilst you have been going through a very sad moment in your life.

I'm so pleased you felt comfort and assurance at this time, sometimes all we need is someone to hold our hand and just be there.

I will ensure all the staff you have mentioned are made aware of these beautiful words.

kind regards and best wishes

Rosie Heasley

1 East Gynae.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent very personal experience of the care you received at CAH Emergency department. Firstly I would like to apologize that you felt some staff were not as caring or compassionate towards you and your husband. Thank you for highlighting the excellent care you received from Sarah, Cathy Ann and Danielle. I will share your feedback with the team.

Stacey
