"All in all , a very positive experience"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Same Day Admissions Unit

(as a service user),

I was admitted to orthopaedics at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glasgow for a new hip recently and it was a positive experience.

The staff were so friendly & professional

From the Same Day Admission Unit staff & nurse Louise to discharge the experience was a positive one

Professor Meek & his registrar Fraser were the best . Had my op in under an hour

The anaesthetic team & nurse Nana made me feel at ease and made what an anxious patient very calm

Ward staff on ward 10A were amazing .

I work in the NHS  & was not looking forward to being on the receiving end but Sister Sweeney & her staff were helpful & made my stay , which I was not looking forward too very tolerable

The physiotherapists & occupational therapists ( Anne,Marie ,Anne , Mary & Donna) were so friendly , professional & guided me through the rehab process

All in all , a very positive experience.

Hi Shieloch

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your recent Orthopaedic surgery at QEUH.

We know how daunting it can be to undergo surgery, I'm pleased that your experience was positive, you felt supported and well cared for by professional and friendly staff.

Our staff across the surgical teams work hard to deliver a good experience for patients coming in to our service, it's great when they hear that their efforts have made a difference.

I will share your kind words with the theatre team,Mr Meek, Fraser, the nursing staff in 10A and the physio and occupational therapy team.

I hope you are recovering well following your hip replacement.

Best Wishes

Morag Busby, Lead Nurse Trauma and Orthopaedics
