"Support for my mum"

About: Adult Health Services / District Nursing

(as a relative),

My mum is in her 90s and had a fall in the house, hurting her ribs. She was supposed to attend Health Centre to have her blood pressure taken but realized she was not able to go. I spoke to receptionist to cancel her app and I asked if it was possible for a nurse to come to my mum's home.

Within half an hour a Nurse Practitioner arrived gave my mum a through examination and prescribed extra pain relief and took her blood pressure    and temp and also chatted away to my Mum, she even handed the prescriptions into the local pharmacy and these were made up and delivered to my mums door by 2.30.

I can not praise this service enough, it restored my faith in the Health Service.

Dear Carer 70,

thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience.

I'm sorry your Mum had a fall meaning she was unable to leave her home to attend her appointment but pleased to read a Nurse visited and completed an assessment resulting in a prescription enabling her pain to be better controlled. Our nurses work hard to ensure they provide high quality and responsive care and it really makes a difference to all of us when we hear when we have done well.

I wish you and your Mum well.
