"Misdiagnosis"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Acute Short Stay Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I was rushed into hospital with a suspected blood clot in my lung as I was short of breath and had chest pain.

Paramedics were fantastic, along with A&E staff. One staff member said my d dimer blood results were high and that I had a blood clot, I then told family who were really concerned along with myself.

I was put onto ward 103 where the staff were appealing from the get go. I was put onto ward that deals with alcoholics and drug users, the whole nursing staff had little to no empathy.

I’ve been discharged home still with sob and chest pain I was getting iv morphine that was then reduced to paracetamol without any discussion when the dr did come it was as tho I was lying and was not being listened to.
