"Poor practice"

About: Bridgnorth Medical Practice

In October 2024 I tried to get an appointment on the day for an extremely painful elbow and lower arm. Non available. Went to the A+E dept hoping to get an Xray on it as had all symptoms of a poss stress fracture/fracture. No Dr available only a nurse that asked a few question, didn't really listen to my replys and told me it couldn't possibly be fractured and couldn't have an Xray as I hadn't fallen over. This was true, I hadn't fallen, but if they had listened to how it happened it still could have been fractured without falling. I was told to put frozen pea on it.

I was adament that there was a fracture but still no to an Xray.

I asked how to go about getting an Xray and was told only a GP at the surgery could initiate one. I then went to the surgery but as expected no appointments for GPs available and to try in a weeks time. I explained that I had come from the A+E so she offered me another appointment with a nurse (if I could wait 1 hour which I did) and that they could get a GP to look if needed.

Again I requested that I may need an Xray for a suspected fracture and again was told "impossible" for a fracture as not fallen, no Xray and to put frozen peas on it.

I gave up and went home in a lot of pain and an unusable arm. I was in a lot of pain and tried to rest and not use the arm as much as I could. Took about 4 weeks until it started to ease.

In the December of 2024 (2 months later) I was on holiday and the arm was badly hit by a closing door. The pain again was Excruciating and went to the local medical centre that XRAYED it. They asked if I had fractured the arm around October time as they could see an old fracture that had healed but the door hitting it had now re-fractured it and misaligned the elbow joint. The arm was now much worse off than if it had been diagnosed correctly in the fist place. A simple Xray at Bridgnorth would of answered all the questions.

I have lost all confidence in the abilities of this GP surgery.

I have a lot of different medical conditions and have found what used to be a good surgery turning slowly into a shambles. Depending which receptionist/nurse you get depends on the outcome of the enquiry.

I am considering changing to another Surgery.
