"I was treated with dignity and respect"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries

(as a service user),

I have attended the Minor Injuries Unit at Arbroath Infirmary twice in the past six months.

On the first occasion, I was treated with dignity and respect by staff who showed teamwork when arranging an examination of my injury. The nurse who treated me was very knowledgeable and informative once we ruled out other cause. Self-care instructions were clear and I am hopeful I will still make a full recovery.

The only downfall would have been the awkward 'roundabout-way' probing of what happened when it would have been no problem to answer the question had it been asked directly.

The nurse who treated me on my second visit showed nothing but warmth, care and compassion and the quality of their work was excellent, including their self-care instructions.

Some of the people who work for the NHS are wonderful.
