I felt bullied by several staff in Ward 20 after having emergency surgery and suffering from long-standing anxiety. No consideration to my mental health was given and I was placed in a room with other patients loudly taking videocalls on speaker, when I was scared and alone having had the worst pain of my life. Hardly a therapeutic, restful environment in which to recover. Eventually my partner came and had to help me with basic personal care because staff would not help me up to use the toilet, despite asking.

Less than 24 hours after surgery I was then kicked out of the bed whilst still in extreme pain and discharged without anyone there to collect me- I had to call a taxi alone. I was made to wait in the SAU, I was in so much pain I laid across metal chairs in a corridor, crying whilst waiting for a discharge letter. At no point did the staff member express that there was something wrong with this.

I was back in a different hospital the very next day where I was kept in for 6 days and thankfully I had much better care there or I may not be alive today. Some of these staff did not demonstrate skill at working in a "caring profession".
