"No clear communication around the letter"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Urology

(as a service user),

I had an urologist appointment at North Devon District Hospital.

When I was there no one I saw gave me information on what to do with kidney stones and had to have my friends suggest apple cider vinegar and the staff member I saw didn't even know what that was.

A few days later I received my letter about my visit and it mentions that if I develop a sense of unwillingness that I should immediately contact them, but not really sure what that means and was given no clear communication around the letter.

Dear likeabletm58,

Thank you for your feedback. I do not work in the urology dept but thought I would mention that there are many helpful patient information leaflets on the nhs website for many conditions, click the link https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/kidney-stones/

There is also a suite of information on our Trust website in the patients and visitors section.

If you haven't already I would also suggest you also sign up to My chart to access your health record, view letters and test results. Information on how to sign up is on our website but you can also ask a member of staff when you next visit us. In the meantime if you have any questions about your letter please do call the urology dept number at the top of your letter and the team will be able to assist.

I hope this is helpful,

Best wishes

Teresa
