"They are doing a great job"

About: Cancer Services / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

I have to say I am most impressed by the care I have had from the NHS. Despite the negativity you sometimes see in the press I have had excellent treatment. Staff are all brilliant and thoroughly charming.

My appointments have all run on time so there were no issues there.

The only thing I didn’t like during the course of my treatment was having to go to a clinic in Perth Royal Infirmary for scans, biopsies etc. It was just a bit of a nuisance to have to go to Perth as I live so close to Ninewells.

I know car parking is a big problem here at Ninewells, but I am able to park in the Maggi Centre car park so I don’t need to worry about that which is a huge help.

I cannot think of any improvements that can be made in this department and from my personal point of view my treatment from the NHS has been exemplary - they are doing a great job.

Dear Finella204

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I'm thrilled to hear that your experiences with our teams have been so positive. We truly appreciate your kind words.

I completely understand that parking at the Ninewells site can sometimes be challenging, and I'm pleased that you've been able to find a solution that works for you. Please be assured that we are aware of the parking issues, and this is something that is actively being reviewed at an organisational level to improve the experience for all our patients.

I also appreciate your comments regarding the need to travel to Perth for scans, biopsies, and other tests. I’m genuinely sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. Please know that the hospital is continuously working to manage the high demand for imaging and testing services, while striving to optimise the use of all available facilities. Our aim is to reduce wait times and minimise any disruptions for our patients.

Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback. We are committed to providing the best care possible, and your insights help us to make continuous improvements.

Sending warmest wishes

Nicola McKee, Lead Nurse, Specialist Services
