My daughter was in to get her tonsils out.
On our arrival the main doors were locked, some might find this inconvenient but personally I think that was a good thing, keeping the kids ward secure.
Then we got into the ward, only sat for a few moments and was shown our way to the bed area,
The staff here are on another level, how they hold it together when all they do is deal with sick kids is beyond me, if you don’t already check on them mentally on the regular then you really should put a process in place to do this. It must be extremely difficult to switch off after the shift.
All the staff have been so great, explaining everything in an easy to understand manner as they know the parents are probably just as stressed as the kids. Even when we were nodding with understandment they still asked again to confirm you understand what’s going to happen.
After her procedure my daughter was extremely distressed and sore, again the staff popped in to check on her but all she was needing was hugs and love, the staff kept their distance and let us see to her for a while, still popping in to check her numbers every 30 mins, once my daughter had calmed down and the meds wore off the staff went into full flight mode, looking after her needs and doing their best to make sure everything was taken care of.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they are great, not only medically but mentally.
We can’t say enough good things, honestly they have been great.
From start to finish they have looked after every need, checked on my daughter regularly, informed us of every step, gave clear and precise information in a manner easy to take in.
All in all I can’t say enough about the staff here.
