Have to say hospitals terrify me. Even descriptions of what they want to do to me leave me feeling queasy but, after suffering for 5 years and on a referral list since 2023 I was finally sold on having a 3-hour appointment with the prospect of walking out with a plan.
Having endured the tests, questions, and indignities, I was given 2 graphically written but different treatment options to consider. I was told I would receive a follow up telephone call in 2 to 4 weeks to answer any questions and progress matters.
Driving home and thinking about why I had received such a vague approach and not been offered a definite plan, I had an inkling I had just experienced a don’t call us, we’ll call you moment, and my ailment and I were quickly heading into the long grass. Enough said?
For my part I have a problem, I need a solution, so where do I go now? Either wait a couple of years for a new referral to a hopefully more functional hospital or pay to go private which I realise I have no choice but to do. Scandalous I know but will be money well spent to rid me of this longstanding problem that concerns me but evidently nobody else.
"No definite plan"
