"They helped me financially, mentally and physically"

About: Adult Health Services / Macmillan Improving the Cancer Journey North Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

Went for my first annual Mammogram and was diagnosed with DCIS, then had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy.

My breast care nurse put me in contact with the McMillan nurses and they were a big source of care and support. They have helped me financially, mentally and physically. I would advise anyone going through any type of cancer to get in touch with them even if it’s just for a chat, they were always there whenever I needed them. I am very grateful to have had this support. Most important  bit of advice I can give is please go for your mammogram when you are invited to go, it might just save your life.
