"The nurses were extremely comforting"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Ward 3E (MAU/Unscheduled Care)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ward 3E after an acute asthma exacerbation for 4 days. I was in a chair in a waiting area while I waited for a bed to become available, which was a welcome respite from the noise and chaos in A&E.

During the wait I had a pregnancy related complication which caused a lot of anxiety. The nurses Amberlee and Jude, and the student nurse Jane were extremely comforting. They were able to get me into a side area and turn a room around to give me and my husband some privacy while I waited for an urgent scan. Thankfully, all was ok.

Even in the following days the ladies named above checked in on me, even if they weren’t covering the area I was in which was really touching.

There were other nurses and health care assistants during my stay who were friendly, supportive and caring. I’m afraid I didn’t get all their names but they are a a credit to the Ulster and the nursing vocation.

Thank you so much for the lovely positive feedback.

it is always lovely to hear staff have made a difficult and stressful experience a little better.

I will share your comments with all the staff and also ensure the staff get a copy of your letter.
