Signs have been up at the hospital for approx 10 years apologising for the delay in parking with no resolution. Now there are building works happening in both the car park at ED entrance and in the disabled parking bays in the main car park. This has obviously significantly reduced the amount of disabled car parking spaces available if needed to access the hospital especially ED. Yet for some reason the hospital has employed a ticket warden to put parking tickets on cars that are clearly displaying blue badges that have parked around the hospital not obstructing anyone. My fathers car was included but not the only one, how does the hospital expect disabled people to get into ED or in for apps when the nearest disabled spaces (aside from 5) are so far away from hospital! The long queues for the car park are definitely a nuisance for the general public but the parking situation is a real barrier to accessing care for disabled people and punishing them with tickets is unacceptable.
