"Let down by the lack of aftercare"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gynaecology (Ward 13)

(as a service user),

I recently had a myosure polypectomy procedure. Five days later, I had a massive bleed and due to being on holiday I had to attend a local A&E. After 5 hours bleeding/large clots, it stopped. I am now suffering daily cramps and pain, 2 weeks after the procedure.

I have phoned the women's health unit at Wishaw hospital for assistance on three occasions (the first being for advice) and been passed back to GP, even though they have just completed the procedure. I feel let down, by the lack of aftercare, I have not received a scan, presumed infection and am struggling daily with pain.

I have attended GP who did not understand why the unit have not seen me, given the procedure has only recently been carried out.  They have had to request a scan via gynaecology, however cannot confirm how long this will take.

I phoned and was told to go to GP to request a scan.

I phoned again 7 days later explaining I was in a lot of pain, I was told this wasn't normal but they didn't have a doctor on. That I probably had an infection but they wouldn't see me.

I attended GP, they cannot confirm if I have an infection due to the issue being in my womb, but it could be possible with the pain and I've been prescribed two weeks of antibiotics.

I feel that the woman's health unit have failed in their duty of care, in terms of aftercare. They have completely the procedure and I have phoned for help. I am very worried about potential ongoing issues and have been ignored.
