"Experience at minor injuries/ED"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Minor injuries unit

(as a relative),

My husband was referred to minor injuries at the Victoria Infirmary. On arrival at 9am we stood in a queue to give personal information. I was able to hear the name, date of birth, GP and presenting reason for everyone ahead of my husband. There is no privacy afforded to patients at reception.

When my husband was called to triage I was told bluntly by a Nurse that I could not accompany him, in stark contrast to our experience at other hospitals we've visited, where I was actively welcomed to accompany him. Why should there be a difference?
