After being a patient of Leckhampton surgery for over 30 years I finally had enough and have moved due to the lack of appointments available and the uncaring/unsympathetic staff on reception. You cant call until after 10am for a same day appointment, often there are non available, even speaking to a dr on the phone is not possible, and the staff dont care how important it is that you speak to someone. I am caring for my mum who has alzeimers and trying to get appointments for her became impossible. The surgery has too many patients and is unable to handle the existing ones, but it still takes on more. The failings at the surgery are nothing to do with Covid or government funding, but due to bad management and over stretched doctors. I cannot fault the doctors and nurses at the surgery, but when you are unable to even see one and end up having to seek help for your 85 year old mother via 111 - only to have to ring again to see a doctor is a dreadful way to treat any human being. Since moving, the new practice has made me feel human and important again. They have already shown a deep understand for what it is like being a carer and couldnt help enough. This is how a proper caring surgery works
