I would like to thank the wonderful staff at the maternity wards and delivery suites at Antrim hospital.
I had a difficult and long labour with interventions and from the moment I arrived in labour I felt listened to and cared for. Plans and processes were explained really well at every stage and they did everything to make me comfortable on the labour ward, offering what pain relief they could including a tens machine at the early stages.
I want to personally express my gratitude to the wonderful midwife Janet and student Brooke who cared for me during labour. I felt very comfortable and in safe hands. They were kind and lovely at every stage and professional and acted quickly when I needed help from the doctor at the end of my labour. Also unfortunately can't remember the name of the woman who continuously put a wet paper towel on my back when I was too warm over and over for 2 hours, thank you whoever you were.
Although it was out of everyone's control that I had complications, I felt in very good hands the whole time.
Thank you also to the great staff on the labour ward who helped me with the baby when I was on my own, especially as I was unable to stand up for a period of time.
I did have some issues with the hospital following up with an appointment for my child but cannot fault the maternity unit itself.
"I felt in very good hands the whole time"
