"A Real Life Hero"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours

(as the patient),

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care I received at the primary care centre in Douglas Street Hamilton ,South Lanarkshire.

I was in severe pain and unable to speak clearly. I had called NHS 24 but hadn't received a call back, so I approached a nurse outside the centre. She kindly allowed me to inquire at reception for an update. The receptionist was also very understanding and went to get information for me.

A gentleman then appeared and took me to a side room, as I was struggling to control my emotions due to the pain. He was kind, caring, and empathetic, and I appreciated his reassurance that I wouldn't have to wait the full four hours to be seen.

The same nurse I had spoken to outside then took my observations and found that my temperature and blood pressure were elevated. Shortly after, the gentleman who had taken me to the side room examined me, diagnosed me with a bad case of tonsillitis, and promptly issued a strong course of antibiotics. He was patient, kind, and took the time to reassure me that I would be okay.

I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Coates and his team for their prompt, compassionate care. They truly exemplify the best qualities of the NHS and I will never forget how he helped me.

Thank you, I really appreciate it
