"Care of my mother"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Medicine for the Older Adult (Wards 9-12)

(as a relative),

My mother was a patient in ward 9 Wishaw General. From the very start of her admission the staff where very unfriendly, which wasn't the worst of it for us as relatives but, worst for my poor mum.

To us there was a clear lack of boundaries with what seemed to be untrained staff, and junior staff appearing to be allowed to run the ward. We found compassion and care was lacking.

My mother was on end of life care and the disgraceful lack of correct medication and basic care resulted in my mother having a horrendous death.

Shame on every one in that most horrible ward.
