Had to recently visit the minor injuries unit in Exmouth due to not being able to see a practice nurse for 3 weeks for a post op wound. Was met by a friendly receptionist at the main reception and a very friendly care assistant at the hatch who kindly took further details and explained although I would have to wait he would happily see me which put me at so much at ease.
When I was called in (within an hour) the care assistant (male think is name was Adrian or Adam) was smiley, friendly and very informative. Explained the stages of wound healing. He even sat and listened when I got teary with personal issues at home. Offered me a cup of tea. They even got a registered nurse to double check the wound healing as he was convinced I had the start of a wound infection due to redness.
Was seen by a friendly nurse withing 5 minutes and antibiotics given. This care assistant is definitely an assest to Exmouth and the surrounding area. An amazing service we are lucky to have.
"Positive attitudes"
