"Outstanding paramedics"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I was involved in a car accident.  The care I experienced from the 2 paramedics/ambulance staff was outstanding.  I am really sorry i only remembered one of their names (Gavin), but both equally gave me quality care.

I felt safe in their hands and they both showed kindness, dignity and respect throughout.  My injuries thankfully were not serious but i felt reassured by their assessment and felt they allowed me to make an informed decision on the next steps for the care i needed but were clear with their own recommendations for a further check over in hospital.

There communication skills were excellent and kept me calm during a stressful time.

Many thanks to both!

I should also add i experienced very good care in BGH, A&E from the doctor who assessed me.

Hi TJ341991,

I'm really sorry to hear about your recent car accident but glad to hear that your injuries turned out to not be serious. I hope you're doing ok.

I just wanted to thank you for the positive comments you made about our staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service who treated you. It's really nice to read that you felt in safe hands and that they looked after you so well in what must have been an extremely scary situation. Our staff will really appreciate you taking the time to reach out and say thank you.

Take care and thanks again,

Mark
