I had my baby girl just before Christmas and I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who looked after me on the post-natal ward. The nurses who looked after me the most were Briony and Rachel and I can’t fault them they were really kind. I was really anxious with it being my first and I had some complications with my healing but they both gave me lots of pep talks and there were lots of checks done on my daughter too so I felt very safe.
The support workers were amazing too and couldn’t of done enough for me, shout out to Carol-ann for all the cups of tea when I was having a wee cry when my baby wouldn’t latch haha. i really really wanted to breastfeed and everyone spent lots of time helping me figure it out, I’m happy to report that I’m still feeding her myself now :)
One thing I didn’t like was the shared rooms, they weren’t great because I felt that the other people and their partners were quite loud and sometimes inconsiderate which meant I didn’t get a good rest. But to be fair the nurses were great at trying to stop people from being too loud which was good.
There were so many people who were amazing who’s names I’ve forgotten but everyone we met was so nice and you could tell they genuinely cared about our wee family and keeping us safe, thank you for everything
