I recently went to Newham General Hospital A&E department with my sister who had a leg injury. From start to finish the service we received was efficient and friendly. We were in and out within 2 hours which was fantastic. It was great how the A&E department is structured from security to reception, to first consultation to XRay to results with the Dr. I would like to thank all the NHS staff that assisted us and let you know how grateful and impressed I am with the service.
The only 3 points I would raise, which are related to the building are that:
1. Please have more seats by the entrance when people are waiting for their first consultation- there were only about 6 seats but lots of patients who required a seat.
2.Also please could you have the seats away from the automatic door or have manual doors- I can imagine it getting quiet chilly in winter and for Ill people to have to wait in the cold could do more harm to them.
3. Finally please could you have signs in all parts of the building.. my sister and I got lost about 3-4 times and couldn't find our way around/out - a few signs here and there really would have helped us get from A-B with no hassle.
Other than the 3 points above I was really pleased with the service received and would love to give 10/10 if I could. Thank you to all of the NHS staff involved we really appreciated it!!! :)
