About: University Hospital Monklands / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I was seen at Monklands Dermatology outpatients in early September by Dr Hussain regarding a skin lesion following a referral by my GP only 1 week before.

As it was uncertain what the lesion was she arranged for it to be removed on the same day (30 mins later).

The 2 nurses who removed the lesion and the Dr observing were all extremely friendly and I'm sorry I didn't catch their names. Their chat certainly distracted from the procedure. I know they are both due to retire and I'm sure they will be missed.  

I received the results of the lesion biopsy 11 days later, putting my mind at ease.

I was extremely happy with my treatment, the safety of the environment including waiting areas and the speed of my results. Considering we are experiencing unprecedented times and a strain on services I was so encouraged by this whole process.

Thank you for getting in touch about your recent experience in our Dermatology service. The team work very hard to provide where possible a one stop shop for our lesion service and whilst this isn’t always possible it’s great to hear that the prompt treatment and results helped make the whole experience much easier for you and put your mind at ease. I will certainly feedback your comments to Dr Hussain and the nursing team about your experience and I am sure they will be delighted to hear about your encounter at Monklands.
