"Merena coil and in pain"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Reproductive Medicine General Practices in Grampian

(as a service user),

Iv recently been getting pain in my Gallbladder, ribs etc. My urine was tested at hospital and was told it’s gallstones but my doctors surgery says it’s not, I had a urine infection then. It’s just a mix of communication but the pain is still there and was told just forget about it. I now think it’s due to a contraceptive coil I have which has not been checked in years and Iv requested to have removed. I feel like I haven't been believed about  the pain.

Yet again my medical practice ignore me and I’d like to register elsewhere

Dear Vickzen,

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. You have mentioned feeling ignored and my tardiness won't have helped that.

There is some useful information about changing your GP here: www.mygov.scot/register-with-doctor/changing-gp, but I would suggest getting in touch with the practice manager of your current surgery to see if they direct you to another GP in the practice. Mixed messages aren't helpful at any time - especially when are in pain and they may be able to find out why this has happened.

If you feel comfortable getting in touch by email or by phone, I can try to help you contact the practice.

Take care,

Kirsten
