In early pregnancy I experienced some bleeding. I contacted my midwife in the morning to be met with an answering machine, finally received a call back at 5.28pm that I missed informing me they finish at 5.30 and if it was an emergency I was to call the hospital. I hadn’t yet met with my midwife so had no clue about any other numbers. Contacted again the following day and received a phonecall back at 5.25pm, explained my situation and was told that it's normal, and to try not to worry. Unsure how someone over the phone can triage you in less than a minute. Turns out my bleeding was the loss of one of my babies.
Another phone call to inform them of symptoms I was experiencing, was just told they weren't sure and to call my GP. Thankfully my GP is actually more than helpful when it comes to offering advice.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and I have been in contact with my midwife again to ask a question regarding contact with someone unwell - I’m yet to receive a telephone call back 3 days later. I was advised to avoid Google, however this is my only option at this point!
It’s a worrying time being pregnant and to feel like you’ve got little to no support fills me with 0 confidence going forward. Also half the questions I answered at my booking in appointment were either wrong or just not filled out and had to be repeated when I attended my hospital appointment.
"Little to no confidence now"
