"Fantastic staff but food choices could be better"

(as a service user),

My son attended wards 19 and 20 and every single member of staff was fantastic!  I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in his care.

One thing that could be improved upon is the food. The children's options were all junk food - fish fingers, chicken nuggets, pizza and hot dogs. Barely a vegetable in sight. How are sick children supposed to get well if they are fed this.

Alisonmac78

Thank you for your feed back and your Thanks re your son's experience in Ward 19 and 20, it is always good to receive feedback good or bad,

Part of my role is looking after the Catering services.

Can I make you aware that the Children's menu's are currently being looked at as part of the food in hospitals programme.

This process will include the Catering Managers Hospital Dieticians staff from the Paediatric wards and also the Parents of patients from the Children's wards across all three sites, (Wishaw Monklands and Hairmyres.)

Hopefully in the not to distant future the group will achieve a more attractive menu which will still include all of the nutritional requirements.

Regards

Sam Hannah
