"Getting the right level of care"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Chemotherapy and Day Treatment Unit

(as the patient),

I was terrified at the thought of having chemotherapy but the staff on the Seymour ward are so kind, professional and polite, they are angels.

The atmosphere they create and how they treat patients hits the right note, no depressing atmosphere, no despair.  it is quiet, calming, friendly, positive and full of hope.  It is a peaceful place and you are treated like a quiet friend.  This is from everyone, cleaners, nurses and doctors alike.    I am now in remission.

As a contrast a chemo department elsewhere, where I had to attend for one session, although professional and clean just does not create the same atmosphere.

I don't know who is in charge of the Seymour Ward but they have it right.

Hi learningkw86,

I am so sorry you found yourself needing to attend the Seamoor Unit for treatment but I am so glad that your experience was positive. I will make sure that your lovely feedback is passed on to the staff on the unit and if you have any further feedback please do get in touch.

Best wishes

Rhea
