"A Colonoscopy"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

My bowel prep didn’t work very well so every time the specialist put the scope in I pooed myself and every time they put gas in me I made rude noises. I have never been so embarrassed in all my life.   It took 2 nurses to clean me up and change my gown and sheets. They were all so good, very lovely people that explained everything to me, what they had found.  I was treated so well and have the utmost respect for all of them,

Thank you to all of them and carry on like you are, you should be so proud of yourselves, xx

Morning

Dear neptune36,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, I do hope that you were not too distressed by the effects of the bowel preparation and gas combined. Please be reassured that due to the nature of the procedure, our patients often pass gas and this is a natural part of the process. I am glad that the team maintained your dignity throughout and explained everything to you fully, the team are passionate and strive to ensure that all of our patients receive the best possible care whilst in our unit. Once again, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, this is always discussed and passed on to the team.

Kind Regards

Liz
