The input from SALT (speech & language therapy) team was invaluable. It has enabled the staff team to think differently about communication. Including that it isn’t just about words and that pointing and gesturing don’t make the service user lazy.
It was great that the SALT team modelled good practice by being very person centred in their approach, it reinforces the training that the staff have received. The SALT team listened to the staff about the approach that wasn’t working.
The resources and information provided were excellent quality.
