Just a few weeks ago, we were delighted to welcome our newest team member Krisztina Varo, who is joining the Stirling office as our Business Administration & Support Officer.
Now that Krisztina has had a few weeks to meet the team and get her feet under the desk, we thought we’d ask her some questions about why she wanted to join our team, what she’s learned so far, what she is looking forward to in her role and so we could learn a little more about her. Here is what she has to say....
What most excited/ interested you about joining the Care Opinion team?
I have only been with Care Opinion for a couple of weeks, and so far, it has been a journey I have always yearned for. I am honoured to be working for an organisation that is so committed with its business core values and its mission to provide an opportunity for people from all background to share their experiences and to induce a positive change in the community. From my very first day the with the company, I have found these values to be close match to my own personal core values. Growth, as a leading core value is something that inspires me in both my personal and professional life as well. It is exciting to be working here, feeling heard and knowing that my opinion matters, and I can pro-actively think about all the positive ways through which we can accomplish change.
You have been with Care Opinion for a few weeks, what is the most fascinating thing you have learned?
It has been interesting to see how Care Opinion uses the different platforms to connect with the wide range of audiences we hope to reach and where our supporters are already active. I have learned the theoretical background of social media marketing through my studies; however, I cannot tell you the joy I felt when I shared my very first Twitter post and it was viewed over 1500 times within a couple of days. I am looking forward to engaging more via social media and hopefully to reach even more people on the different platforms in the future and to spread our mission and values!
Tell us what you do as a Business Administration & Support Officer?
As the Business Administration & Support Officer at Care Opinion Scotland, I am working across different key areas of the business including HR, Communications, Finance, Quality Management, Marketing and Events, General Operations, IT and Business Strategy. I am also a liaison between our Scottish and English office seeking to help on the different levels of business. I work alongside both with the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Scotland, both inspiring me to learn more on the different business strategy concepts in a practical environment.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
I am looking forward to working on different projects, especially in relation to Communications, Events and Marketing. Reaching out to individuals through a meeting or a conference is always an interesting way of meeting people and learning new skills and knowledge. It’s great having the opportunity to be growing and flourishing with Care Opinion and I am eager to see where the next coming years will take us.
Tell us about Krisztina outside work.
I live in Stirling with my fiancée. This year is about change and personal growth for me, and I have decided to challenge myself with a couple of projects. I have been arranging our wedding abroad, which will take place at the end of this August. I have started to cycle on a regular basis to increase my fitness levels and enjoy spending time outdoors more, and I am also looking to read 52 books in 52 weeks, one for every week of the year. My fiancée and I are also currently undertaking the 1.000.000 million step Fundraising challenge for Diabetes UK to transform the lives of millions of people living with diabetes through research. Besides these fun projects, I am an avid reader of manga books and planning to travel to Japan the next year; and also a gamer with a particular taste for games on Playstation, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS.
