After a recent home birth, the midwife returned on day two to do the routine checks on my son. His respiration were found to be slightly out with normal parameters so she phoned the hospital and the consultant advised we head up to neonates for review.
On arrival we were redirected around to paediatrics, who couldn't have been more welcoming (or excited to see a two day old baby!)
I lost some blood during labour and was awaiting iron results so I was advised to sit down on the comfy seat and a staff member came back with some sandwiches and a jug of juice as I am breastfeeding and either my partner nor myself had eaten dinner yet.
Everyone we encountered was amazing with our little boy and explained their findings (thankfully everything was ok). I can't remember any names of the staff we dealt with now, but please pass on our thanks for being so lovely! It's hard enough as a new, first time parent, without ending up in hospital, but everyone made our experience so positive and we left feeling reassured.
