Really can not thank the wonderful, happy, kind, compassionate and competent professionals that played a part in the care i received both before and after my operation.
I was extremely anxious of surgery and the general thought of being in hospital, the staff made every effort to relax and reassure me throughout the journey. I felt a real sense of ease as staff create a calming environment and are evidently passionate about their roles. Never a dull member of staff, each and everyone shared a sense of humour and made my experience as positive as can be which really went a long way.
From the health care assistant who took my observations to the surgeon who operated, every member of staff went above and beyond. I observed a real sense of team work and no member of staff was any less important, they all played a vital role in my care which I will be forever grateful.
Although I wasn't that keen on the Anaesthetic feeling, I can now say that my fear of surgery has somewhat been reduced because of the experience I had at NMGH!
A real big thank you to the team at the day surgery unit, GI surgeons and team, recovery room staff and the nurses on ward C5!
