Following my elderly Mums breast cancer and mastectomy in the summer where she experienced a positive patient journey she unfortunately had a cerebellum stroke 5 weeks ago.
Again another positive NHS experience for her and our family.
My father called an ambulance for my mum who had collapsed in the bathroom on a Sunday morning which arrived within 10 minutes.
She was seen in A/E and again all the staff including the consultant Dr McGroarty were professional efficient and kind to her.
She was moved to Ward 62 for 2 days where all the staff again were lovely
Finally she was sent to Ward 56 where she remained for 10 days.
I can't praise/thank the staff enough in Ward 56. From the cheery health care assistants including Natalie to the nursing, physio OT ( Sarah ) and medical staff who all looked after my mum. Including the staff who had to sit with her through the night while she had confusion and delirium.
In particular Senior Charge Nurse Sharon who kept the family and my mum informed about her progress in a caring and helpful way. Ward 56 is an exceptional Ward with kind and caring staff.
"This is an exceptional ward with kind and caring staff"
